Glasgow Laboratory for Advanced Detector Development (GLADD)
The Glasgow Laboratory for Advanced Detector Development (GLADD) is an electronic device fabrication and test facility housed in a Class 10,000 clean-room. It features a suite of state-of-the-art equipment including an ultrasonic fine pitch wire bonder for fabricating interconnects in electronic devices and a probe station for investigating the functionality of improved sensor designs. GLADD staff have extensive experience in building silicon strip detector systems and have played a key role in several major international particle detection projects, including the novel semiconductor tracker and pixel detector technology used in ATLAS upgrades at CERN and in applications for medical imaging and airport security.

Polyomics is a state-of-the-art facility, providing Genomics, Transcriptomics, Proteomics and Metabolomics services globally. Part of Glasgow University, one of the top 100 universities in the world, “Polyomics was established in 2012 to provide a ‘one stop shop’ for individual and cross ‘omics analysis, and since then has completed >900 projects, contributed to >40 funded grants and co-authored >180 high impact papers.” With a particular focus on industry/ academic partnerships, we have run 27 projects with commercial entities, supporting them from conception of the project to delivery and achievement of project milestones.

IGR Services offer a variety of precision manufacture, test and measurement facilities housed in a suite of laboratories and clean rooms backed up by a team of highly experienced, expert operators. Our facilities include surface measurement capabilities and environmental testing for space-qualification, including vibration and thermal vacuum equipment. Additionally we offer world-class expertise in silicate bonding of composite structures and precision metrology. In the course of our work we have integrated high quality CAD and FEA techniques and are open to further collaborations which take advantage of this expertise.
Imaging Centre of Excellence (ICE)
The Imaging Centre of Excellence (ICE) is a state-of-the-art medical research facility based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, the largest acute hospital in Western Europe. It cements Glasgow's position as a global hub for precision medicine.
The facility is a nexus for academic, NHS and industrial expertise into brain imaging, with its centrepiece being the £10 million 7 Tesla (7T) MRI scanner. This scanner is one of the world's most powerful MRI machines and is the first scanner of its kind to be located in a clinical setting.
The facility contains extensive space for research and development as well as the Clinical Innovation Zone, 11,000 ft of space dedicated to industry collaboration and partnership.
By positioning Glasgow's internationally renowned researchers alongside industry partners, ICE aims to transform the management of chronic diseases globally by accelerating biomedical research through open innovation approaches, resulting in high quality health care provision and economic growth.
ICE has been developed by the University of Glasgow in partnership with NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde and sits alongside the Clinical Research Facility and Queen Elizabeth Teaching and Learning Centre.

Imaging Spectroscopy and Analysis Centre (ISAAC)
The Imaging Spectroscopy and Analysis Centre (ISAAC) offers a range of high quality measurement, characterisation, and analytical services, using a variety of sophisticated scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Raman spectroscopy techniques. SEM imaging can be carried out in high or low vacuum, as well as in environmental mode for ‘wet’ samples. ISAAC has particular expertise in the life sciences, engineering, environmental and geotechnical, and heritage science, where it has assisted industrial customers and publicly-funded organisations with failure analysis, identifying contamination, process optimisation and waste reduction, performance improvements, design innovation, and informing policy and strategic decisions, such as for preservation and conservation.

James Watt Nanofabrication Centre (JWNC)
The James Watt Nanofabrication Centre (JWNC) has over 35 years experience delivering micro and nano fabricated products, in particular electron beam lithography that offer solutions in processing, nano technology, nano electronics, optoelectronics, mm-wave and terahertz, bioengineering, biotechnology, lab-on-a-chip, photovoltaics, clean tech and energy, and security and defence. Using its clean room facilities, £22M of nano fabrication tools, developed process modules, and extensive expertise, JWNC has integrated processes to produce components, devices, circuits, systems, and total solutions.

Kelvin Nanocharacterisation Centre (KNC)
The Kelvin Nanocharacterisation Centre (KNC) enables the study of materials and material interfaces through the use of highly advanced electron, ion and atomic force microscopes. Imaging and diffraction analysis can be performed over a wide length scale range from the sub-millimetre right down to the nanometre and atomic scale. The information obtained can provide powerful analysis and insight into structure-property relationships in important technological materials, such as nano magnetic structures, electronic devices, thin film optical coatings, oxide materials, including ferroelectrics, advanced metal alloys, and polymer films and devices.

Kelvin Nanotechnology Ltd (KNT)
Kelvin Nanotechnology Ltd (KNT) provides nanofabrication solutions to industry and academia, delivered through the state-of-the-art James Watt Nanofabrication Centre (JWNC) at the University of Glasgow. KNT specialises in high resolution, large area, multilevel electron beam lithography for applications such as laser grating writing, transistor gate writing, imprint masks, optical elements, photonic crystals, nanotextured surfaces and many more.
MVLS Structural Biology and Biophysical Characterisation Facility
The facility offers a wide range of biophysical techniques to support researchers in the determination and analysis of molecular structure, structural integrity, stability, and interactions with other macromolecules, ligands, and membranes.
The facility can also provide the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries with a biophysical characterisation service to test the integrity and stability of biotherapeutics during drug development.

Robertson Centre for Biostatistics
The Robertson Centre for Biostatistics conducts and supports collaborative research in all areas of medicine and has particular expertise in the design, implementation, analysis and interpretation of clinical trials and epidemiological studies. The Centre also specialises in the development of novel informatics technologies to support their conduct. Centre staff have expertise in Biostatistics, Data Processing and Management, Software Development, Health Economics, Health Informatics and Project Management and Development. The Robertson Centre is a key component of the UK Clinical Research Collaboration(UKCRC) fully registered Glasgow Clinical Trials Unit and has significant experience of joint working with colleagues in academia, the NHS and the pharmaceutical and devices industry across the UK and internationally.

The Scottish Universities Environmental Research Centre (SUERC), a facility jointly founded by the Universities of Glasgow and Edinburgh and located in East Kilbride, has a market-leading reputation in the application of isotopic techniques for the earth, environmental, and life sciences.
