Q. How do I check-in?
When you arrive on Campus you do not need to check-in or present us with your ticket. Just turn up and start having fun!
Q. Do I need to arrive at a set time?
Open Day timings can be found below, however, Open Days are flexible. You can arrive on campus whenever is convenient and also end your day when suits. This allows you to plan a schedule that works best for you.
- Offer Holders' Day, 27 March 2018, 9.30am - 3pm
- June Open Day, 14 June 2018, 9.30am - 3pm
- August Open Day, 28 August 2018, 9.30am - 3pm
- October Open Day, 20 October 2018, 10am - 3pm
Q. How will I know what is happening on the day?
A brochure is produced for every Open Day that gives you all the information you need to know including times and venues for all the activities planned for that day. The brochure will be available to download from the Open Days webpage a few weeks before the event or you can pick up a hard copy of the brochure around campus on the day. You can also download our Open Day App that has a full list of all our events and even allows you to create your own personalised schedule for the day.
Q. Do I need to book in advance for the talks and tours I would like to attend?
You do not need to book in advance for Open Day talks. Please just go to the talk venue on the day in good time to secure your seat. For most tours you do not need to book in advance with the exception of Veterinary School and Dental School Tours which do require you to register for a separate ticket. Please see the relevant sections below on Veterinary Medicine and Dental School tours for more information. You will find information on the times and venues of all the activities in the relevant Open Day Brochure. The Open Day brochure will be available to download a few weeks before each event.

Q. Can I bring my parents/family/friends?
Yes, you are very welcome to bring others with you to Open Day. When you register for a place make sure to select the correct number of individuals so you are registering a place for you and your guests. Alternatively your guests can make their own registrations.
Q. How do I get to the University?

Q. I'm making an overnight trip to Glasgow, where is the best place to stay?
Visit Scotland offer some suggestions for hotels situated in the West End close to the University. Please type Glasgow West End into the location search box.
Alternatively you may want to stay in the City Centre and commute to the West End on the morning of Open Day. The city centre offers a larger variety of hotels. Q. Can I stay at the University of Glasgow Halls of Residences whilst visiting for Open Day?
Halls of Residences are available to book at a reduced rate for Open Day guests at June Open Day only. Registration for this will be open closer to the event date. Unfortunately at other Open Days throughout the year our students are residing in the Halls and there is no capacity for guests.

Q. Can I visit the University of Glasgow Dental School?
Tours of the University of Glasgow Dental School are only available on certain Open Days. The Dental School is a working hospital and preserving the best possible patient care is a priority. For this reason, tours cannot be organised at every Open Day. Please note that University staff from the Dental School will be present at the Main Campus at all Open Days to provide information and answer any questions about studying Dentistry.

Please note applicants who are successful in receiving an interview to study Dentistry at the University of Glasgow will be offered a full tour of the Dental School at this stage.
Q. Can I visit the University of Glasgow Veterinary Medicine Campus/Garscube Campus?
Tours of the Veterinary Medicine Campus/Garscube Campus will be available on certain Open Days. Registration for these tours will be open closer to the event date. Please note that University staff from the Veterinary Medical School will be present at the Main Campus at all Open Days to provide information and answer any questions about studying Vet Medicine and Vet Biosciences.

Please note applicants who are successful in receiving an interview to study Vet Medicine at the University of Glasgow will be offered a full tour of the campus at this stage.
Q. Can I visit the Student Halls of Residences for a tour?
Yes. Accommodation tours are available and transport is provided to and from the halls. Tours depart regularly throughout the day to Queen Margaret Residences and Murano Street Residences. Please see the relevant Open Day brochure for details on timings and departure points. The Open Day brochure will be available to download a few weeks before each Open Day.

Q. I am a teacher and would like to bring a group of students to Open Day. How should I register?
Teachers should book for their students using Eventbrite. On the Open Days website, select the day you wish to attend and you will be transported to the Eventbrite booking page. Click the green "Register" button in the top right hand corner, then look to the second ticketing option; "School Group Registration". Select the number of pupils and teachers attending then press continue. Fill out your details to complete your order.
Please note, you should not print your tickets as it will print a ticket for each pupil. We will not need to check your tickets on the day and you do not need to register when you arrive on campus.
Q. I booked a ticket for Open Day but can no longer attend. What should I do?
To cancel your ticket(s), please log in to EventBrite and follow these instructions. We will receive a notification from EventBrite informing us of this change so there is no need to email us to let us know.
Q. I cannot attend Open Day, can I visit another day?
We offer a variety of other opportunities to visit the University however we believe that Open Days are the best way for prospective students to experience the campus and get information. Check out our Alternative Ways to Visit page for details.
